Ok, here’s a bit of a refresher for you. In part one, we learned what an Urgent task was right? Then we learned to figure out what an Important task was…right? If not, feel free to update yourselves. I’ll wait.
This month is all about what I have labeled “Note to Self”. In the Eisenhower Method, this would be labeled “Delegate”. Since I have yet to find minions, delegating is not really something I get to do. So instead, I use this as a reminder for myself. It’s where reminders go until I have enough gumption to get them taken care of.
For example, monthly filing of paperwork. In my daily life, filing is the least of my worries. It only becomes Urgent or Important when I need to file taxes (which is always the weekend prior to the deadline). Once again, it is up to the individual to determine what category your tasks fall into. Be real with yourself. If you are three months behind on tallying your business expenses, that goes into Urgent. Making a dentist appointment for a cleaning – note to self. A good measuring stick for this category would be, things that need to be done within the week or month.
Next month, we will go over that last category in this modified crazy version of the Eisenhower Method for Chronics with “Someday”. Plus, there will be two surprises for you after all this work you have been doing. Yassss!
