Anyone care for a do-over? I could really use one right now. I had written out this post and when I pulled it up to edit…it was gone. Oy! If I ever wanted to throw a computer through a window, it was today. It seems I’m not the only one either. I have seen a lot of social media lately with that theme. January was just a trial month apparently.
Consistency seems to be lost on me right now. My one job was to write weekly for this blog. Where I have I been then? On my bed, watching a Netflix binge. This is not how this works! Right? So we first, thank the Lord we have the tenacity to do what it takes to get it done.
Listening has helped tremendously lately. I was introduced to a podcast called The Life Coach School Podcast with Brooke Castillo. I adore her. I am slowing working my way through her two hundred plus podcasts. I shuffled thru her list and picked out thirty shows with topics I wanted to delve into personally. My top picks thus far are #6 Vulnerability vs. Victim Mentality and #15 Other People’s Opinions. In my list are also topics on weight loss and entrepreneurship.
Gratitude Log – do you have one? This is not a new concept. I started mine years ago while reading one of many of the Sarah Ban Breathnach’s books. Which, if my faulty memory serves, is one of the chapters in her first book Simple Abundance. She recommended writing no less that five things you are grateful for each and every day. If am tired, I will navigate to writing a small sentence for the day. Even on my worse days, there is always something to be grateful for.
When in doubt, eat a frog. Ok, now don’t take me literally. I am talking about the one task you have been putting off forever. I am here to tell you that there is nothing more invigorating than finishing off that nagging something you don’t want to do. Whether that hateful task is making the bed or doing your taxes. Just do it people!
I truly hope these quick tips help you get started again in February. Comment below on what helps you when you feel like you are due a do-over.
